The
100 acre Bar W Guest Ranch on Spencer Lake is surrounded by 2,900
acres of State land and is located just 3.5 miles west of the
quaint town of Whitefish, Montana. Known as the gateway to Glacier
National Park, Whitefish is at the center of a year-round recreational
playground in northwest Montana hosting Big Mountain Ski and
Summer Resort. Visitors to Whitefish can enjoy a variety of activities
in addition to the area’s trademark ski slopes.
For lovers of the outdoors, there are lakes for fly fishing, trails
for mountain biking and much much more. Golfers can hit the links
at any one of the 9 local courses. And for evenings on the town,
the area offers plenty of fine-quality dining, shopping and other
nighttime activities like rodeos and theater company productions.
Our
horseback-riding program is the ranch’s main attraction.
The experienced staff, our trained horses, and the assorted terrain
our riders traverse, make for an unmatched riding experience. You’ll
ride in the mountains, over the foothills, and across the open
prairies of Big Sky Country, in addition to enjoying riding events
that take place in our indoor and outdoor arenas. We offer riding
lessons for beginners and, for those more experienced riders, advanced
lessons that include roping and cattle work. You'll feel reborn!
