Rainbow
Trout Ranch - Web Site
Rainbow Trout Ranch is a very special place for a
unique summer vacation. It combines the best of the Colorado Rockies and
the enchantment of northern New Mexico. Located in the beautiful
secluded Conejos (Co-nay-hos) River valley at 9000', the ranch features
vast amounts of unspoiled country in which to ride, hike, fish and
ponder. It is perfect for both adults and children, with great horses,
exceptional fishing, swimming, children’s programs, day trips to Taos,
white water rafting and the chance to ride America's longest and highest
narrow-gauge steam train. Enjoy the atmosphere of our rustic log cabins
and feast on our wonderful home-cooked meals. A historic ranch
surrounded by the
Rio
Grande National Forest, we are within easy access of Albuquerque,
Denver, Colorado Springs or Alamosa.
We think our location is ideal. At 9000' the summer
temperatures are near perfect, with warm, sunny days and cool evenings.
Ponderosa pine and aspen are in abundance, and a countless variety of
wildflowers populate the meadows. From over 10,000' at the north end,
the ranch drops down into the river valley, providing a view from the
lodge area that is breathtaking. Over a mile and a half of the river
winds through the ranch. Within a short walk or horseback ride are
numerous small lakes and streams as well as some impressive water falls
- all in the seclusion of the National Forest. Trout are abundant.
