Horseback Riding Canada
Both
rides in Quebec combine wilderness riding on good horses with
the charm of a foreign country. Quebec is at America's doorstep
and easy to reach at a much lower cost than a European trip.
Though the English conquered Quebec militarily over two centuries
ago, the predominant culture is strongly French.
The
Inns of Gaspé Peninsula offers a chance to
move through beautiful, wild scenery with some good gallops
and trots on fit horses. Ride through maple and pine forests
along old logging roads, past rushing rivers and sparkling
lakes. The overnight stops serve top quality cuisine, are
extremely attractive and are built and decorated in the style
of old France.
Explore
rural country and follow logging roads made over 200 years
ago, which now lead to picturesque little villages on the
St.
Lawrence Ride. It is not luxurious, but the
food is good and the hospitality is warm; evenings are merry
with guitar playing and songs.
